Brenden Van Schooten

Many, many years ago Brenden left school and worked as a survey and land information draftsman for about 10 years. After this he was a courier driver around the Wellington CBD for 5 years until he was offered the position to run the courier fleet of 55 drivers. All of this gave Brenden the skills & knowledge to understand self-employment (as well as larger businesses) and he now uses this vast experience when assisting others to achieve financial security.

Mark Thomas


Mortgage Adviser

With over 15 years of experience in the finance industry, Mark is well placed to give expert advice over almost any area. Beginning as a bank officer and moving on to home loans, Mark learned a great deal about what makes the kiwi family tick. In 2013 he moved to Risk Insurance and truly found his calling. As an adviser Mark is able to put his clients first and create long term relationships which ensure that his financial advice will stay relevant to their long term needs.

Joe is an Authorised Financial Adviser, the Discretionary Investment Management Service (DIMS) Manager, and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the company. Joe was formerly the Head of Investment Solutions at Grosvenor Financial Services Group. Prior to that, he spent eight years developing the investment offering for Goldridge Wealth Management.

Toni Dodds


Quality & Compliance

Toni is our Quality and Compliance Manager and joined Camelot in October 2015. Toni has been in the financial services industry for 8 years and has previously been with TOWER and then Fidelity where she held the position of National Compliance Manager for their aligned adviser channel. She is an active member of the Institute of Financial Services having held the title of Secretary for the past 5 years, and recently taken on the role of Chairperson in the Wellington region.

Frances Cummings


Client Services

Frances has been with Camelot through its numerous guises since the beginning. She is the most experienced (age wise) in the branch office. She helps to look after the Wellington advisers and their clients.

Jason Vuppula


Client Services

Jason is our new team member at Camelot and is part of our friendly Client Care Centre. Jason completed his study in Marketing and International business at Victoria University in Wellington and has over 10 years experience working in Client Services, Marketing and Sales. He is passionate about helping and providing quality customer service and solutions. Jason also loves to run, lift weights and watch movies in his spare time.

Elle Namana


Client Services

Elle is our new team member at Camelot and is part of our friendly Client Care Centre. Eager to put her outstanding people skills to task, Elle previously worked in the world of retail where she has 4 years experience dealing with customers. Outside of work, Elle enjoys exploring her city and spending time with family and friends.

Keanan Beyers


Client Services

Keanan joined Camelot in June 2017. He has been involved in household, car and medical insurance and has over 18 years experience in working in call centres and customer service. While at Camelot he is studying to be an AFA and is working in the Client Care Centre, where he is passionate in helping our clients. Keanan has lived and worked in the UK and is a keen traveler. In his spare time he loves to listen to music, surround himself with people and play sport, tennis is his favourite.

John Ashby

John has been a vibrant part of the New Zealand insurance industry since he began his career in 1990. During this time he has held numerous roles and gained an extensive knowledge of the many aspects of insurance. John became a part of Lifetime in 2012, bringing with him a team of skilled advisers and administrators who had worked under his leadership at his previous company.

Throughout his career, John has always had a passion for mentoring younger advisers. In his position as National Sales Manager he has been able to implement a nation-wide training scheme, helping Lifetime’s newest recruits become knowledgeable advisers with a strong commitment to long-term customer service.

Even after 26 years in the insurance industry, John is still excited by the prospects that it can offer and his enthusiasm for the work can be felt throughout the Lifetime offices.

John is married to Anne and together they have three grown children. In his spare time he loves to sail small boats around Worser bay and play a bit of rhythm guitar with his band.
